Dear Parents,
I would like to welcome you to our 4th Grade Classroom. I hope you are excited for this upcoming school year! I would like to take this time to share some visions about this school year.
My professional mission goal is to provide a comfortable and safe environment where children are inspired and motivated to learn freely. Students’ will be active learners who will make personal daily connections to life. Honesty and respect towards each other will play an important role in allowing students to reach their highest success level. Students will confidently realize life-learning challenges that they can overcome with perseverance. Many of these goals I will reach through classroom presentation and daily activities. Special seating chairs, a carpet, and freedom to pick a “special spot” during individual assignments, provides a comfortable environment for the students. Connections to life during daily lessons will provide insight and understanding. A tactile approach will provide better reinforcement and understanding of lessons. Honesty and respect will be praised and reinforced through the position of “MAYOR” in my classroom.
As an educator there are many goals set not just for my students but for myself, too! I hope to have children reflect on the positive role that I played in their life. I want them to remember me for more than the A-B-C’s that we worked on. I want them to reflect back and see me as a teacher who brought humor and fun into the classroom, a teacher who motivated them and gave them reasons to learn more. I would hope that the children would remember that they played just as an important role in my life, as I did in theirs.
Thank you for this opportunity to meet you. I hope that you have a clearer understanding of the expectations that I have for myself as well as our students’. With communication and teamwork, I believe that we will have a very successful school year!
Sincerely,
Alison Griffith
